Parker Dewey Partner Content (March/April 2025)

Most Career Fairs are over, but that doesn't mean that the world of early talent recruiting is any less busy. Employers are trying to find meaningful ways to build on connections they made at your fair, and students are looking for fast ways to make themselves competitive candidates for internships. What do they have in common? Both benefit from Micro-Internships! Share the below content to help them understand how.

Hiring Micro-Internships move quickly. Most companies make selections within a week of posting their projects and expect to kick off right away. That's why it's important for Career Launchers to check Parker Dewey regularly for new opportunities, and apply as soon as possible when they see a project that interests them. The Role of Micro-Internships in Enhancing NACE Career Readiness Competencies

Since 2022, we’ve been asking students and recent graduates who have completed Micro-Internships to reflect on the impact of these experiences on their career readiness, as outlined by NACE competencies. We recently updated the report, and we're excited to share the results!

Hiring managers often hesitate to take a chance on early-career candidates, especially when resumes don’t tell the full story. But what if there were a low-risk way for your employers to evaluate potential hires before making a full-time commitment?

In this case study, your employers will see how HCA Healthcare used Micro-Internships to assess real skills in action, leading to a full-time hire and a promotion within 10 months. Now, HCA is expanding the program as a cost-effective way to build a stronger, more reliable talent pipeline.

    For Students: A Reminder

This month, remind your students that users are not permitted to externally reach out to companies about posted Micro-Internship projects until after they've been selected. Keeping their communication limited to the Parker Dewey platform until then not only keeps the application process equitable and ensures that they are reaching the project's hiring manager, but also serves as a safety precaution. Parker Dewey cannot confirm the legitimacy of exchanges outside our platform.

    For Students: Upcoming Event

The above stated, your students are welcome and encouraged to reach out to contacts at companies of interest that don't currently have a project posted. This is a great step for students who have already made a connection with a specific company, but may not have time/transportation/etc for a traditional internship. Please direct students who would benefit to our upcoming 'Creating Your Own Opportunities' webinar and the associated employer engagement templates.

We only post reminders about specific content once a month, but you can find plenty more promotional content for all audiences in our Marketing Toolkit and Partner Checklists
